Wayne Barker exhibits at Art Paris Art Fair 2017

March 31, 2017 - Everard Read JHB

Wayne Barker, represented on this occasion by Galerie Patrice Trigano and baudoin lebon, exhibited two of his works, Lady Gaga (2011) and Mademoiselle 3 (2013) at the Art Paris Art Fair (APAF) held in the Grand Palais. The exhibition opened on 30 March 2017 and ran until 2 April 2017.

This spring Art Fair provided a platform for 139 galleries from 29 countries to explore ideas of discovery; primarily focusing on European art circa 1945 to the present, including the emerging international art scenes.

After the success of Art Paris Art Fair in 2012, whereby Asia was selected as guest of honour, 2017 introduces Africa as the next. Maintaining their commitment to shedding light on emerging artistic hubs, this year APAF wishes to highlight ‘the richness and diversity of contemporary African creativity’. Drawing from her Cameroonian background, Marie Ann Yemsi, will be curating one of the African projects on show.
