Sanell Aggenbach's Madre Pieta, is currently on display at The Norval Foundation. 

Madre Pietà offers a more playful re-imagining of Michelangelo’s original: the Madonna and Child, replaced by two plush toys cast in bronze. The sculpture stands two-metres tall; it’s hard, polished surface coloured in deep warm tones. Aggenbach's sculptural work often parodies Western masterpieces from Michelangelo and Henry Moore, to Warhol and Pierneef and takes, a refreshing look at these pivotal references from her unique  perspective.
