PRESS RELEASE
EVERARD READ AT RMB LATITUDES 2026
May 22 – May 24, 2026
At this year's rendition of the RMB Latitudes Art Fair, Everard Read will be presenting a considered dual-focus exhibition that reflects both our commitment to sustained artistic practices as well as our investment in cultivating new generations of collectors. The booth is anchored by a dedicated presentation of works by Lucinda Mudge, whose interdisciplinary approach to ceramics and painting unfolds through a nuanced exploration of materiality and gesture. This focused selection operates as a prelude to her forthcoming solo exhibition at the gallery, offering an early encounter with a body of work that meditates on tactility and rhythm.
In dialogue with this presentation, the second half of the booth brings together a dynamic selection of works by both emerging and established artists. Conceived with accessibility in mind, this segment foregrounds entry-level pieces that invite new collectors into the field without compromising on conceptual or aesthetic rigor. By positioning these works within the context of the fair, the gallery seeks to dismantle traditional barriers to collecting, fostering a more inclusive ecosystem in which younger audiences can engage meaningfully with contemporary art.
Extending beyond the confines of the booth, a series of Guy du Toit’s distinctive Hare sculptures will be situated throughout the fairgrounds. These works, at once whimsical and contemplative, act as subtle interventions within the broader exhibition landscape, animating public space and encouraging moments of unexpected encounter.
