Mmakambo Helen Sebidi recently participated in The Death and Life Residency in the city of Cachoeira, located in Salvador, Brazil. Cachoeira is a historical city where the enslaved African people were trafficked during the 17th and the 18th century. It is also known as the first town in the country to declare independence from Portugal. This historical background produced a unique environment for African culture in the diaspora.
